
Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating -1350 hrs
Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating is a high demand career field. The programs train students for employment as heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration mechanics or air conditioning installer-servicers. Instruction and laboratory activities include planning, installing, testing, and servicing of A/C, refrigeration, and heating systems and components, taught on state-of-the-art equipment. Students also learn troubleshooting electrical and mechanical components; testing, diagramming, and solving problems in A/C, refrigeration, and heating equipment; brazing and soldering tubing and piping; installing and servicing controls and components; electrical wiring; troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems; routine maintenance and service. This program also offers EPA certification, comprehensive recovery, and recycling.
Building Trades and Construction – 900 hrs.
The Building Trades & Construction Design Technology program is designed to prepare students for employment in the residential and commercial construction industry. The content includes, but is not limited to: applying construction techniques; reading plans and specifications; and developing trade skills in carpentry, masonry, electricity, plumbing and air conditioning. The curriculum integration of theory and practice provides students with fundamental entry level skills necessary for the construction industry.
Electricity – 1200 hours
The Electricity Program is an exciting program offering theory and hands-on training for a career in the Electrical Industry that can be used throughout the country. The Electricity program will open numerous opportunities for those who are seeking employment in a career that is growing with our endless demand for the use of electricity.
The Electricity Program will train you in the following:
- Basic electrical theory
- Electrician Helper
- Residential Electrician
- Commercial Electrician
The Electricity Program will also include the introduction to Solar Photovoltaic’s, Electrical safety, National and local codes, grounding, A/C and D/C circuits, electrical equipment, specialty tools, blue print reading, trouble shooting, recognized wiring methods, how to install electrical systems in a neat and workmanship manner. You will receive hands-on training in our own Energy Lab using state of the art electrical equipment.
The Electricity Program encourages graduating students to pursue taking the Broward County Electrical Journeyman License exam. The Sheridan Technical Electricity Certificate of Completion may be applied toward a portion of the hands-on-training of the exam requirements, pending approval from the Broward County Electrical Licensing Board.
Approximate starting salary $15 per hour (The electrical industry offers a wide range of opportunities, individual skill level, personality, and good work ethics will help determine salary levels)

Plumbing Technology – 1080hours
The Plumbing Technology Program is a career path choice in which you can earn a great salary. The Plumbing Industry is an up-and-coming career that requires training and a strong personality. Becoming a Plumber with the training from the Plumbing Technology program will help ensure a stable secure job in these economic times.
The Plumbing Industry is one of the most stable jobs in our country.
The Plumbing Technology Program will train you in the following:
- Plumber Helper
- Residential Plumber
- Commercial Plumber
- Plumber
The Plumbing Technology Program will also include the introduction to Solar Thermal, Plumbing Safety, National and Local codes, cold water systems, hot water systems, sanitation systems, water regulations, copper pipe work, poly vinyl chloride, cast iron, soldering and brazing, specialty tools. You will receive hands-on training in our own Energy Lab using state of the art plumbing equipment.
The Plumbing Technology Program encourages students to pursue taking the Broward County Plumbing Journeyman License exam.
