You will be prepared to take an approved state and/or nationally recognized industry certification or licensure exam in your field of study.
College Credit Transfer Opportunity and/or Advanced Credit
Upon completion of the program and meeting eligibility requirements, including the attainment of an aligned industry credential, students may be awarded credits toward an Associate Degree by Broward College or the Florida College System. Students must enroll in Broward College within 2 years of completing the program at Atlantic Technical College. Additional college credit may be awarded with the attainment of additional industry credentials.

Advanced Automotive Technology Ford ASSET
Program Length: 2400 hours/approx. 24 months – full time
Ford ASSET is a two-year post-secondary program offered by Broward County Public Schools at Sheridan Technical College. The program’s articulation agreements with the local community colleges allow students to earn college credit at Sheridan and during cooperative education at dealerships in Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach Counties. Graduates receive an Associate degree, a technical program certificate of completion, and a manufacturer’s certification in all areas of automotive repair.
Advanced Automotive Technology MOPAR – MCAP
Program Length: 2400 hours/approx. 24 months – full time
Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge believes in the value of trained technicians. Upon completion of the program, students may opt to earn an Associate’s degree in Automotive Service Technology (or similar). Students must attend Sheridan Technical College twenty hours a week (12:30 PM to 5:30 PM) in eight week blocks. During this time students also may choose to attend an academic class one night a week at Broward College. Students usually work twenty-five hours a week at their MCAP dealership during the class term.
Advanced Automotive Technology Toyota T-TEN
Program Length: 2400 hours/approx. 24 months – full time
The Advanced Automotive Technology (Toyota TTEN) program is specific to Toyota/Lexus/Scion products using Toyota/Lexus/Scion automotive vehicles, trainers, parts, tools and curriculum materials. Instruction includes practical classroom applications and an internship experience at a Toyota/Lexus/Scion dealership under the supervision of a Certified Toyota/Lexus/Scion Technician and the Program Teacher-Coordinator. Instruction also coincides with the eight (8) areas of professional technician certification recognized by the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).
Audi Exclusive Education Program (ASPEC)
Program Length: 1800 hours/approx. 18 months (full-time)
Students attend Sheridan Technical College West Campus on Mondays from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm while working at their sponsoring Audi dealership part time the rest of the week. Students will work approximately 20 to 30 hours a week at an Audi dealership, usually under the supervision of a Master Technician, earning $11.00 per hour totaling nearly $27,000 during the 18 month program. Audi students will be encouraged to take the ASE Automobile Certification Tests during the normal length of the program and should have at least four (4) ASE certifications upon graduation.
Automotive Collision Repair & Refinishing
Program Length: 1400 hours/approx. 14 months (full-time)
Instruction and training includes uses of parts and repair manuals, price lists, flat-rate manuals, computerized systems for estimating and pricing to customers; recordkeeping; shop safety, and housekeeping. Throughout the course of the program, students will receive comprehensive instruction in the five (5) areas of specialization recognized by the Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) for professional technician certification. Students are encouraged to participate in the ASE Certification testing program during their training.
Automotive Service Technology
Program Length: 1800 hours/approx. 18 months (full-time)
Training also includes the use of electronic diagnostic and other test equipment. Specialty training is provided in such areas as air conditioning, front-end alignment, and the use of computerized automotive repair data systems. Instruction coincides with the eight (8) areas recognized by the Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) for professional technician certification, and provides for eight areas of specialization in Engine Repair, Automatic Transmission/Transaxle, Manual Drive Train and Axles, Suspension and Steering, Brakes, Electrical Systems, Heating and Air Conditioning, and Engine Performance. Students are encouraged to participate in the ASE Certification testing program during their training.
Commercial Class “B” Driving
Program Length: 150 hours/approx. 1 ½ months- full time
The Commercial Class “B” Driving program will prepare students for entry-level employment as a local truck driver. Upon successful completion of the program, Commercial Class “B” Driving students will receive a technical certificate, and will be able to test at our facility for their Class “B” Commercial Drivers’ License (CDL).
Commercial Vehicle Driving
Program Length: 320 hours/approx. 3 months- full time
Prepare for entry level employment as a professional local or over-the-road (OTR) truck driver. Upon successful completion of the program, CVD students will receive a technical certificate and will be able to test at our facility for the Class “A” Commercial Drivers’ License (CDL).
Marine Service Technologies
Program Length: 1350 hours/approx. 12 months- full time
McFatter’s one-year Marine Service Technology program will prepare you for a career in the pleasure boating arena by providing the knowledge and skills necessary to service and overhaul these watercraft. The program is divided into (6) six courses, covering such topics as Electrical Fundamentals, Marine Rigging, Outboard Engines, Fuel Injection Principles, Stern Drives and Inboard Engines.
Medium & Heavy Duty Truck & Bus Technician
Program Length: 750 hours/approx. 7 months- full time
The program includes instruction in the skills necessary to maintain and repair the heavy diesel commercial vehicles that carry products and passengers across the highways. Students will be taught to maintain and repair vehicles according to strict Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines.
