FLDCP Scholarship for the Academic Year 2025-26

The Florida Design and Construction Professionals, Inc. (FLDCP) is a South Florida organization with the
mission to promote education, networking, goodwill and philanthropy of the design and construction
industry by hosting or promoting networking or other educational events that enhance the industry and
its charitable partners, and by pursuing matters of interest that benefit the design and construction
industry.
FLDCP has allocated $6,000 in scholarship funds that will be divided equally amongst a number of qualified
applicants. The scholarships will be granted for the Fall semester of 2025.
WHO CAN APPLY
Applicant must be a permanent Florida resident, enrolled and attending a full-time degree program at an
accredited Florida college or university, who is majoring in a design and construction related degree.
Applicant must be enrolled as a Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Graduate or Tech student. Applicants are not eligible
to apply during their first year of college or university. Current and former members of the FLDCP Board
of Directors are not eligible to apply. Part-time students with full-time employment will be considered if
pursuing a degree in design and construction related field.
WHEN TO APPLY
Completed applications packages for the academic year beginning in August 2025, must be received via
email no later than midnight on June 30, 2025. NO EXCEPTIONS.
HOW TO APPLY
Application packages must include the items listed below and transmitted electronically as a single PDF
document to: [email protected]. FLDCP must receive the completed
application package before the above stated deadline, and must include the following:
• An Application Form completed in its entirety, signed, and dated by the applicant. The Application
Form template is included in this document following the Information Sheet. You do not need to
submit this two-page Information Sheet.
• A letter of recommendation or referral signed by the applicant’s major professor, supervisor, or
department head, as appropriate. Multiple letters will be accepted. Each letter must be signed,
scanned, and included as part of the single file PDF scholarship application submittal package.
The Recommendation letter template is included in this document following the Application
Form.
• A one-page essay describing why the applicant believes they deserve this scholarship. The essay
must be typed, single spaced.
• A current transcript from the applicant’s college or university. This may be an unofficial screen
shot from the institution’s web site for the purpose of the application process. Winners will be
required to send an official sealed transcript prior to issuing their award check.

Hollywood Women’s Club Scholarship

The Hollywood Women’s Club will be awarding $1,000 academic scholarship(s) to qualified current female student(s) at Sheridan Technical. Student(s) must be in at least their second term. Our hope is the funds will ease some financial burden, facilitating timely graduation, and lead to successful entry into the workforce. Application submissions must include all of the following typed information:

· An official transcript or copy of transcript that has been accepted by Sheridan Technical College.

· Two letters of recommendation from instructors, counselors, or employers. See attached form. Forward the email link provided to the writers to complete the letters of recommendation and submit them directly to [email protected]

· Completed Application must be typed and submitted electronically. The completed application packet, including the original signature page, must be typed and submitted electronically no later than 12 noon on Monday, June 30, 2025. An electronic copy of all submissions must be sent via email to [email protected]

The Kathy Abbaticchio Robinson and Laurence William Robinson Scholarship to the Broward Technical Colleges 

The Robinson Scholarships funds will be awarded to a current or future Broward Technical College post-secondary students for the purpose of continuing their education at either Atlantic, McFatter or Sheridan Technical College in the Building or Construction Industrial Trades.

The criterion for selection is:

•            Scholastic aptitude and performance

•            Achievement / Completion in their technical program

•            Financial Need

 Four $2000 Scholarships will be granted for enrollment at Atlantic, McFatter or Sheridan Technical College.(4 per college for a total of 12 -$2000 scholarships from this very generous donation)  Funding will be paid directly to the Registration office or the Bookstore at Atlantic, McFatter or Sheridan Technical College. Completion of a Building Trades or Construction program is a requirement of this scholarship.  Failure to complete or withdrawal from a program may result in the student being responsible for the money disbursed.

Each applicant who is a current student will need to include:

1)  A summary one-page printout of their grades (the unofficial transcript)

2) The completed application below. (Signature Page certifies the application and documentation are complete and accurate.)

3)  An essay stating your career goals in the construction or building trades and how receipt of this scholarship award would help you achieve these goals (250 words maximum).

Four $2000 scholarships for students pursuing an automotive themed major (mechanical engineering, robotics etc.). Two scholarships will be awarded every spring semester, followed by two additional scholarships to be awarded for the fall semester each year. Available to students who are currently enrolled full-time in a secondary vocational school, technical institute, or are high school seniors who are enrolled in one of the aforementioned institutes.

Four $2000 scholarships to students pursuing a career in the traditional building trades such as HVAC, carpentry, electrical, or related fields of study. Two scholarships will be awarded every spring semester, followed by two additional scholarships to be awarded for the fall semester each year. Available to students who are currently enrolled full-time in a secondary vocational school, technical institute, or are high school seniors who are enrolled in one of the aforementioned institutes.
